Her legacy
About Lovely B. Thomas
Lovely B. Thomas is remembered by her family as a caring, outgoing woman who kept a beautiful smile on her face. She cared deeply about people and had a gift for lifting others up when they were feeling down.
Family was central to Lovely’s life. She stood up for the people she loved, held her children to high standards, and believed in discipline, responsibility, and doing what was expected. Her warmth was matched by strength.
Lovely’s Christian faith was also an important part of who she was. Her son remembers her as someone who consistently pointed people toward the church and encouraged them in their faith.
The Lovely B. Thomas Scholarship carries that legacy forward by supporting students who demonstrate hard work, service to others, resilience, and a desire to use careers in education or healthcare to improve the lives of others.

The scholarship is designed for students pursuing careers in education or healthcare who have demonstrated ambition, drive, service, and perseverance.
Background
Preference for low-income, first-generation college students and students from underrepresented backgrounds.
Academic profile
Students at any education level may apply. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
What matters most
Hard work, service, authenticity, resilience, ambition, drive, and meaningful impact on others.
